Sverzino – Costa Toscana IGT

16.00
Sangiovese rosato, produced with the main vine of Tuscany from which we took only a “sverza” of its original color, keeping the skins in contact with the must for only a few hours and at a controlled temperature. The influence of the climate of the Tuscan coast and the clayey soil give this wine of great structure a pleasant scent of fresh fruit that make it pleasant on all occasions In combination with cold cuts, fresh cheeses, fish dishes, white meats and pizza.

Origine del nome
“Sverza”, a fine sliver of wood. This is its literal meaning, and Sverzino is the nickname of a person from my village, whose real name I don’t remember. To everyone he was Sverzino, precisely because of his physical and character traits – he looked like a sliver of wood. A thin, slender man of average height with a weak voice. An intelligent person, precise, cheerful like his whole family, a great childhood memory. When I thought about the Rosé wine to include in my cellar, I don’t know how, but the reference to this person immediately came to mind. For a good Tuscan, rosé wine is like a sliver of wood, a simple wine that you drink chilled, that reminds you of childhood, cheerfulness, conviviality, a sliver of the good Chianti from which it takes its main grape variety; his majesty the Sangiovese.
